Esta intervenção será um apelo, uma consciencialização perante a responsabilidade colectiva, redobrada pelos tempos de profunda crise em que vivemos, e pela experiência histórica de outros exemplos que nos alertam para que, quando se perdem valores de referência socioculturais e naturais insubstituíveis, todos sentimos uma sensação de empobrecimento colectivo.

Within the Arrábida Natural landscape, near the city of Lisbon, lies the ruins of this 16th century Convent of the Capuchins. Its cultural significance is unmeasurable. As stewards of this heritage, it is our common duty to safeguard the continuity of this architectural and spiritual heritage. The conservation approach did not follow a 'traditional' focus on technical and material issues.
