Datado de 1863, este edifício tradicional de acompanhamento no Bairro Alto apresentava unidade tipológica e a configuração exterior espartana, na linha do "pombalino simplificado" que perdurou durante o século XIX. O estado geral do edifício bem como as suas qualidades espaciais, construtivas e expressão formal permitiu uma reabilitação controlada, com substituição pontual de elementos e reinfraestruturação integral. Espacialmente anularam-se os pequenos quartos interiores e o apartamento no sótão foi integrado em duplex no último piso. A conservação de todos os elementos estruturais e caracterizadores dos apartamentos - como o tipo de pavimentos, estuques, caixilhos, e respectivas portadas – manteve o caracter histórico do lugar. Inicialmente projectado para aluguer a jovens até aos 35 anos, com valores de renda 25% abaixo do valor de mercado, o dono de obra decidiu alterar o uso deste edifício. Disponíveis desde mar. 2016, estes “apartamentos turísticos”, constituem-se como uma oferta alternativa à convencional indústria hoteleira. Projeto-piloto da SCML, o Short Rental Santa Casa é uma unidade de Alojamento Local para estadias entre 2 noites a um mês, oferecendo sete apartamentos (três TO e, quatro T1, sendo um duplex).
Dating back to 1863, this traditional building in Bairro Alto featured interior and exterior characteristics in line with the "simplified pombalino" that lasted during the 19th century. Generally, the physical condition of the building as well as its spatial, constructive and formal expression qualities allowed a controlled rehabilitation, with located replacement of elements and global re-infrastructure. The small interior rooms were removed, and the attic apartment was integrated into a duplex on the top floor apartment. The preservation of all the structural and characterizing elements of the apartments - such as the type of flooring, stucco and window frames - kept the historical character of the place. Initially designed for renting to young people up to 35 years, with income values 25% below market value, the owner decided to change the use of this building. Available since March. 2016, these serviced apartments, constitute an alternative offer to the conventional hotel industry. SCML pilot project, Short Rental Santa Casa is a Local Accommodation unit for stays between 2 nights to a month, offering seven apartments (three TO and four T1, including a duplex).
