Entre a terra, o mar e o céu, este é um lugar da cultura mediterrânica, em pleno Atlântico. Num espaço de beleza sem limites, é também seguramente um local de grande sensibilidade paisagística e ambiental. Por isso, a nossa intervenção procura sobretudo manter a identidade cultural existente, integrando uma realidade que procura restabelecer a leitura volumétrica que o tempo apagou.
In the south of Portugal, this small Vauban fort was built in 1857 with the purpose of defending the Tavira village, from the continuous attacks from North African pirates. After a long period of inactivity, the fort was sold by the State to private buyers in the edge of the 19th century. The maintenance of such a built structure became complex and honourable so the decision to install a small ecological tourism accommodation unit was a solution to preserve the monument.
